The Caribbean Current is an independent Caribbean media publication dedicated to helping audiences better understand Jamaica and the wider Caribbean through factual reporting, historical research, documentary filmmaking, public policy analysis and evidence-based commentary.

We provide context — not just headlines. Every publication is grounded in verifiable evidence and supported by official documents, historical records, academic research and trusted institutional sources. Rather than telling audiences what to think, we present the facts, explain the context, and encourage critical thinking.

Editorial Standards

Fact-based reporting

Nothing is published without verifiable evidence. Speculation is identified as such; unverified claims are not repeated.

Primary source research

We prefer legislation, court records, Hansard, treaties, official statistics and archival documents over secondary reporting.

Transparency

Sources and references are published with every article, video and documentary — with direct links wherever possible.

Fact vs. opinion

Reporting and analysis are visually and editorially distinguished from commentary. Opinion is attributed and labelled.

Corrections policy

Material errors are corrected transparently with an updated timestamp. Original publication dates are never altered.

Citation standards

All external sources follow our Citation Policy: full title, publisher, date, and direct link to the original document where available.

Brand usage guidelines

  • Do not stretch, crop, rotate, recolour or distort the logo.
  • Maintain clear space equal to the height of the ‘C’ around the wordmark.
  • Reproduce the wordmark at a minimum height of 32px on screen or 12mm in print.
  • Use the dark-background logo over photography or brand navy; never place the primary logo on complex imagery.
  • Do not add drop shadows, gradients or effects to the wordmark.
